The Royals win their 6th SABL Championship

The halfway point of the season has arrived and there are of course many questions to be answered before the SABL playoffs begin, and a new champion is crowned(or maybe a back to back winner).

In the dog days of summer one's mind sometimes wanders in the middle of blowouts or even during an at bat.  Last weekend while coaching third I had a light hearted conversation with the third baseman of the opposing team.  I went something like this.

Me - "Man your left fielder Darrell is real intimidating.  He has a body of gold and just scares the crap out of the opposing fans and pitchers ever time he comes up.  I think he might be in the same category as John Wilson who I hear from opposing fans just scare the hell out of them"

Third Baseman - "I am not real comfortable with this conversation so close to Pride dude"

Me - "I am comfortable with my hetrosexuality but this is a question that has to be answered"

And so it started

So for the first annual GQ SABL Poll here is the question:

"Which SABL player looks the best in a uniform"?  He does not have to be a good player.  He just has to look like his uniform has been sitting in plastic in between games, and simply looks like a major league player.  Eye black is a plus, and being on the juice would also help.

I will help out by giving you 10 candidates from the league.  You can also write in a player if you prefer.

1.  John Wilson - Mets

2.  Darrell Eailey - Red Sox

3.  Andrew Ryder - Dragons

4.  Adam Morton - Jays

5.  Rob Hehir - Astros

6.  Brennan Corey - Royals

7. Jason Forbes - Psychos

8. Paul Harrison - Reds

9.  Matt Steele - White Sox

10. Anthony Warren - Goats

If you are too homophobic to respond then ask your wife or girlfriend who they think should win.  Send all votes to info@sabl.ca.  I will tabulate and announce the winner by the long weekend in August

Career stats are now available on the main stats screen.  It can be selected from the 'Change Season' drop down list in the top right corner of the page.

Also, the filter on the stats page now applies to 'Plate Appearances' instead of 'At Bats'.
